The Last Few Days...

Sorry for the absence here on the blog, but as you might have figured, we had to go and have a baby. He arrived on Tuesday and we stayed in the hospital for two days, we are now finally home and can get on with just being a family and trying to get in to some sort of routine. L is taking it pretty well, she is very curious and wants to help out with everything, it's hard when you have to say no to her. Baby boy eats and sleeps and is the most precious thing ever!!. We feel very lucky right now...

PS.: Slowly working my way through my mailbox, pls have patience!;)

Weekend details (Yellow Mellow)

Yellow mellow... That pretty much sums up this weekend. Waiting, wondering and just not doing anything much. The highlight for L was playing outside in the backyard with just a tee and shorts (!!) AND getting a small package from Armer og Ben with this cute yellow jumpsuit (from Mini Rodini). She has been wearing it all weekend, that's why it's a bit wrinkly (and even spotty) in the pictures haha!. I think she looks like a flower in it, it's just so pretty, the perfect summer piece.

Headbands from: COS (the first two), Poppy Rose (the pink floral), Talc (big peach/floral bow) and H&M (the last one).

Name of the Game...

Thoughts on names... Not easy this time around. I have like a million great girl names, but boys... not so much. We have a list that we keep reading over and over again but you can't really decide before you meet him, right!?. Is he a Bo or is he a Jacob or maybe a Luca??. Should we include a family name, should we go for a traditional or modern name, long or short, oh, and don't forget that it must work in both Sweden, Norway and England (yeah, like Lykke does...hmm). I used to love discussing names, now it's a bit frustrating since I feel we are stuck, but hopefully all that will change the minute we see him!.

I'm officially on overtime here... maybe by this weekend we have a new family member!!?. Happy Friday!.

Small Fashion – Big Style...

...that's webshop Scandinavian Minimall!. They just got in US-brand Mini and Maximus. It's an eco-friendly brand with a very strong creative side, every year they collaborate with artists to bring unique graphics to their designs, they also makes the coolest posters. We are big fans, make sure you check them out!. At Scandinavian Minimall you can also find a great mix of other brands like Soft Gallery, BOBO CHOSES, Garbo&Friends, Nico Nico, TUSS and LuckyBoySunday, to name just a few.

Q&A with Swedish owner Gabrielle Spång:

What kind of webshop is Scandinavian Minimall? At Scandinavian Minimall you can find all things fun, unique and stylish for your little ones. I call it small fashion–big style!. I am Swedish and it was only natural to draw inspiration from places like Sweden and Denmark, where some of my favourites labels are from, Mini Rodini and Soft Gallery to name a few. Now I select labels from all over the world which fill these criteria.

In 3 words how would you describe your shop? Fabulous Small Fashion!

What inspires you? Anything and everything, when you live in London you get inspired all the time just by the buzz, the architecture and the people. I'm also hugely inspired by my travels to Sweden and Denmark, I am drawn to the Scandinavian minimalistic style, that's how I like to dress myself and decorate my home and that is also what influences my buying for Scandinavian Minimall. Another huge inspiration source is blogs (including The Jnr.), and Instagram –I am a bit obessessed at the moment!

3 must buys from the shop? It varies all the time but amongst the latest arrivals I'd say these are very cool: Nico Nico Ikat Shorts In Blueberry, LuckyBoySunday Sailor Jack Doll and Atsuyo Et Akiko Bear Tee.

For Never Old

How cool is the new Petit Bateau's campaign!?. It's called "For Never Old" and it's just so fun and it's really bursting with energy and spontaneity!. We have used quite a lot of Petit Bateau in the last 3 years, this brand kind of "saved" us when L first was born. She was 4 weeks early and really small so the only thing that would fit her (and was easy to get hold of) was Petit Bateau. In April, on the Petit Bateau Facebook page, fans and their children will be invited to take part and share their ideas of childhood to add to the campaign’s video collection. Have a look!.

MEDVETEN mini

Say hello to my first Swedish webshop (yay!!) as a sponsor!. MEDVETENmini is brand new with all organic products and a nice list of quality brands. Above you can see Danish brand FUB, which uses only 100% organic cotton for summer and the finest wool for winter, also on the list of brands you have Imps&Elfs, Serendipety, Smiling Planet, Seventy Tree and Wee gallery. And yes, they ship world-wide!. Stay up-to-date with MEDVETENmini on Faceboook!.

A Q&A with owner Ebba Mattsson

When and why did you start up? I have owned a lifestyle shop in the South of Sweden before and worked as a costume designer for many years. The industry behind fashion and the western exploitation of both people and environment kind of broke my heart. One day I just had enough and gave up my business and took matters into my own hands and short after that MEDVETENmini was born.

What kind of webshop is MEDVETENmini? It's intended for children from 0–6 years and parents with the heart in the right place. We have a wide range of clothes, toys, storage and home and deco products and everything is hand-picked and carefully selected with a strong focus on natural materials and sustainable and Fair trade production. We like to support brands that reinvest in educational and social projects. It is important that the final product is clean and non-toxic so that our children can grow up in an environment free from harmful chemicals. Over time, we will produce our own line of children's clothing and the shop will be expand with a section for secondhand clothes and toys- Unique and environmentally friendly!.

In 3 words how would you describe MEDVETENmini? Organic, honest and lovely

Name 3 must-buy's from your shop. Gorgeous Imps&Elfs Jumpsuit. Pretty organic Sew Heart Felt slippers. Lovely plates and bowl from Smiling Planet.

A small space

We have been working on a little place in our apartment to put the baby whenever he decides to come, he will eventually sleep in the same room as L, but for now we have made a small nook in the living room. For our girl we had the Stokke Sleepi bed, which she still uses so we wanted to get something else for him. I totally fell in love with this crib from Jungelens Leker (the brand is Nesta's Nest) and just had to have it!. It's made from 100% wool felt and Eco-certified wool and it's handmade in Berlin. You can get the stitching in blue, orange, rose and cream. The great thing is that once your baby have grown out of the crib you can still use the top-part for toys or blankets. I also got the BOBO CHOSES Mr. Cook which is the softest snake ever, also from Jungelens Leker (yes, finally a shop in Oslo that carries BOBO CHOSES!!). I'm so happy with the small space we can give him and hopefully he will like it too...
